To Top Q: I need to find out what courses I have to
take to complete my designation. Where is this information available? A:
Just click on "Designations" on this web site, and you'll find a list
of requirements for each designation program. Each time you receive a grade from
BOMI, the courses you've completed and the courses you still need to take are
listed on your Exam Analysis. Back To Top Q:
How long does it take to earn a BOMI professional designation? A: By
taking three courses per year, many BOMI students earn their designation in just
2.5 years. These students keep their momentum going by finishing one course per
"term": fall, winter and spring. To further facilitate this kind of
schedule, some students find it helps to switch between study formats self-study,
classroom, or 4-day Accelerated Review. The biggest advantages to finishing in
2.5 years are: 1) You avoid delays and the risk of losing interest. 2)
You can start enjoying the prestige of your BOMI designation that much sooner.
Q: How long does it take before I will get the results
of my exam? A: You will receive your grade in 2 to 4 weeks. Back
To Top Q: I just completed my last course. How long
before I receive my designation and certificate? A: One week after receiving
your grade, upon receiving your graduate packet, you can begin using the designation
after your name. You will receive your certificate approximately 3 to 4 weeks
after receiving the grade for your last course. Back To Top Q:
Which of the BOMA Locals hold BOMI classes, and how can I contact them? A:
For a list of BOMA local Classroom Coordinators click
here. Back To Top Q: I
understand that several of BOMI's courses count toward more than one designation.
Which are these courses, and how do I transfer courses between designation programs? A::
For a chart that explains which courses count toward more than one designation
program, click here. When
you enroll in a second or third designation, all of your existing credits that
apply to that designation are automatically added to your records. Back
To Top Q: I have completed all of the courses within
my designation program. What do I do next? A: If you are in the RPA
program, you must complete and return the Experience Requirement form. If you
are in the FMA, SMT, or SMA program, congratulations -- by completing your coursework
you have earned the designation! Over the next 4 to 5 weeks, you will receive
a graduate packet, designation pin and certificate. If you've earned an RPA, FMA,
or SMA, remember to maintain the designation and keep your knowledge current through
the CPD program. Back To Top Q:

What is Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and how do I fulfill this requirement? A:
The CPD program helps BOMI graduates stay current by requiring them to earn 18
points of CPD credit within a three-year period. Points can be earned through
activities in which you would normally participate: taking courses (including
BOMI courses) and seminars, giving presentations, participating in trade associations,
attending tradeshows, writing articles, and so forth. CPD ensures that graduates
remain in step with the industry, which in turn solidifies the continuing value
of BOMI's designations. Back To Top Benefits
