There are four professional designation programs:
Real Property Administrator (RPA®)
Teaches you to understand the many aspects of operating a commercial building and maximizing a building`s net income while minimizing risk.
Facilities Management Administrator (FMA®)
Teaches you to manage facilities in a way that best support staff and fits into the organization`s overall objectives while providing information on new technologies, environmental health and worker safety and other timely issues.
Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA®)
Teaches you to increase the operating effectiveness of your building so you are able to manage energy efficient, environmentally sound, and cost effective building systems.
Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT®)
Teaches you technologies and trends in the maintenance field so you are able to run energy efficient, environmentally sound, and cost-effective building systems including the specific operating systems.
To fulfill the requirements of each of the designations, students can
- Complete the required courses outlined for each designation or certificate, or they can;
- Apply for credit for a specific course based on their having taken a course that has been deemed equivalent to the BOMI course. For example; a College or University level course in budgeting and accounting may be determined to be equivalent to the BOMI course and you can complete a Transfer Credit Application to get credit for a previously taken course (Contact BOMI Canada for further details);
- Apply to get credit for a course based on your education and experience by completing a Competency Review by Credit application (Contact BOMI Canada for further details).
