Achieving your designation or certificate requires that you take a number of courses. The program you select will dictate the number of courses that you will take. You will find that a number of courses are applicable towards more than one designation and/or certificate program. As a result, it is beneficial to plan ahead when selecting your electives as some are applicable to more than one program while others are not.
With your registration in a course, you will receive all the required course material necessary to prepare for the computer based exam. The time it takes to prepare for the exam will vary from course to course. It will depend upon your experience and overall comfort level with the material.
Each course is structured similarly, with the slight exception of the Ethics Short Course. This is a smaller course in comparison to the other core and elective courses in the programs.
Each course is broken down into chapters with each having a series of learning objectives. Throughout the chapter, there are key concept learning flags indicating material that the student should focus in on in order to prepare for the exam. There are case studies and worksheets throughout the material and sample test questions at the end of each chapter. Each course includes a Key Concept Study Guide that can be used to prepare for the exam.
When you have reviewed the material and you are comfortable with the content, you will register to take an on-line computer based exam. All courses other than the Ethics Course will have 100 multiple choice questions. The Ethics exam is the exception as it only has 30 questions. You have six (6) months from the date you registered for a course to take the exam. If you do not take the exam within this time period, you will be required to pay an Exam Administration Fee in order to extend your exam session by another six months.
