Founded in 1970, BOMI International is a not-for-profit educational institute, based in the United States, that has earned a reputation as a trusted property and facility educational resource for top corporations, government agencies, property management firms, unions, and trade associations.

BOMI International is known for its industry-standard designations:

• Facilities Management Administrator (FMA®)
• Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA®)
• Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT®)

These designations act as letters of creditation in the industry, ensuring employers that prospective and current employees holding a BOMI International designation are properly trained and have the experience to perform their jobs at the highest level. Like BOMI Canada, BOMI International is led by a Board of Trustees. BOMI International works exclusively through BOMI Canada to service the educational needs of Canadians in the property and facility management field. Canadians sit on the BOMI International Board of Trustees and take an active role in many of the committees that are engaged in developing and delivering the educational products that make up the various designations and certificate programs.
